Bandages
An adhesive strip on the vulva will be applied.
You will leave the operating room with a vaginal stent of a synthetic material that will help the vagina retain its shape during the healing process. The stent has a waterproof external surface and is very soft and flexible. You will have to leave it in place 24 hours a day during the first week. The following two weeks you will need to wear it only when you sleep.

Removal of the stitches
The stitches do not need to be removed, since an absorbable surgical thread is used.

Bruises and swelling
Bruises may appear near the vagina, they will migrate to the thighs and disappear in a matter of days.

Scars
The scars will be concealed inside the vagina and they will not be palpable. Vaginal tissues tend to heal very well.

Recovery
You will have to rest between 24 and 48 hours, but you may walk around.
You will be able to have sexual intercourse again after the 21st day.
Possible risks and complications
It is very unlikely for a vaginal rejuvenation surgery to present any complications when performed by a qualified surgeon. However, every surgical procedure, regardless of its triviality, has some risks and we should always think of them as a possibility.

• Adverse reactions to anesthesia.
• Infections, although they are very unusual if you take right antibiotics.
• If bruises get too large, they may require drainage.
• Seromas, or fluid accumulation beneath the skin. In some cases, they may require to be drained with a syringe.
• If the stretching of the vaginal muscles was due to childbirths and you decide to have another child after a vaginoplasty, you will probably lose part or all of the benefits obtained. Therefore, vaginoplasty is advisable for women who decide not to have any more children. However, many women have had children again after this kind of surgery and some of them had even had a second surgery.
